Plain White T's at Monmouth University

I love live music and I love photography. When I get to combine them, I'm in heaven. I was able to photograph the Plain White T's as a trade for designing their poster for the show. It was so much fun and I would love to photograph more shows. Any bands out there interested? You can view more images on Flickr.com.

The WWII B17 Bomber

I LOVE WWII fighter plans! A few years ago I was able to see them up close because they had a few on display at a local airport near me. I got to see these wonder planes. They are beautiful machines. Of course they have been restored, but can you imagine what they must have been like in their day. Imagine being a pilot walking up to one of these. You must have felt invincible.
I really appreciate the people that restore and maintain our heritage. I brought my son with me this day and I am glad he got to see a bit of history up close. He still remembers going to see them for he has an excitement about historical airplanes as well. Ironically, his interest was piqued through video games but the how is not important.
They bring these planes back regularly to the airport and every now and then they will fly above my home. They will rattle the walls (they don't fly very high) and summons us to go out and admire them. I run to catch a glimpse of the majestic flight of these birds. Why? Because, they are such beauty to behold.

Divine Light

I saw this one morning walking the dogs. I love post-storm and pre-storm skies. There's something devine about the cloud formations and lighting. If you think about it, God is the most influential artist of all time. Many artists spend their careers capturing the art that was created long before them.
So you can have your Da Vinci's and your Monet's, I say that God has set the standard of art for all to follow.

Free-spirited Youth

To be young and free, to not have a care in the world. I wish sometimes that I can go back to those times but then again, there's something beautiful about watching it. I relish the fact that I am a dad. To be called, Dad and to be a person a child looks up to. There is no greater feeling.
We joke, we have fun, we are family. Life is funny that way. It is both beautiful and painful to watch them get older. You want to hold them close and protect them all the time and yet you want to let them learn and grow as people, but that includes watching them make mistakes. It is cruel.
I try not to live life looking in the rearview mirror because the more interesting stuff is in front of me, but like a good driver you have to check what is going on behind you. At that point, when you look back, you have two choices, long for the things you past or be joyful that you were able to live through it. I choose the latter.
I try to live each day to the fullest because someday that boy will be a man and I will, hopefully, be proud of that man because I had a hand in shaping him. Good or bad, he will always be my son.

And so it begins

Here we go again with another attempt at a "blog". This one is a two fold inspiration. One is I like to blog, although I don't have enough time to do it and I love photography. I hope that you find the images on this blog as interesting as I do.
As for this image, one of my dogs, Jeter, is a great model. He'll just lay there as I try different lighting positions. He's probably better than most humans at just sitting there and getting their picture taken.
